Calling all paddling fanatics! The 2018 Gold Coast Classic Ocean Race is nearing this spring, and is not to be missed for paddlers of all categories that are looking to compete in one of the most scenic destinations in Queensland.
Presented by the Gold Coast Ocean Paddlers Club, the Gold Coast Classic Ocean Race is one of the biggest annual paddling events in Queensland, and features two different courses that take its participants across the beautiful Gold Coast. All paddlers are welcome to join in, which offer events in multiple paddling categories including Ocean Ski, Stand Up, Prone, and Outrigger. Divisions include Ocean Ski, Spec Ski, SUP 14’ and Under, Prone 12’ Stock, and OC1. The 2018 Gold Coast Classic Ocean Race will offer two courses this year: a northbound course that runs from Southport Seaway to Tallebudgera Beach, and a southbound course from Kirra Beach to Snapper Rocks.
Paddlers of all ages and handicaps can take part, and have the chance to win cash prizes as well as prize packs provided for by the event sponsors (Sharkskin, Nelo, Deep Ocean Paddleboards, Paddle 2 Fitness, Surfing QLD, and more) – so it’s well worth a go!
