Tugun Lights Up 2019
Tugun, a 5-minute drive from our Palm Beach Gold Coast accommodation, is starting Christmas in full festive spirit this December with its annual lights-on event near Tugun Beach. Tugun Lights Up sees Tugun Village come to life with Christmas trees, lights and festive markets, offering an unmissable atmosphere and lots to see and do for the whole family.
Be in Tugun on the evening of November 30 to join the crowds in witnessing the lights come on for the first time! It’s a sight to behold as Tugun officially welcomes Christmas on the Gold Coast, complete with a special host, street decorations and market stalls selling a variety of festive treats and gifts, such as decorations, souvenirs and hot food and drinks.
The festivity in Tugun will continue throughout December, so if you miss Tugun Lights Up 2019, the lights and markets will still remain in the run-up to Christmas Day.
Coolangatta Christmas Carols 2019
One of the big annual carolling events on the Queensland Gold Coast, Coolangatta Christmas Carols isn’t to be missed for holidaymakers looking to stir up the excitement for Christmas Day. Held in Queen Elizabeth Park next to Coolangatta Beach, this must-attend event is a warm experience for all with live entertainment on stage, market stalls and all your favourite carols sang loud under the night sky.
Coolangatta Christmas Carols gets bigger each year, and this December it will feature a live performance from Australian entertainer Denis Walter, who, in recent years, has lent his impressive baritone voice to renowned national events such as the annual Carols by Candlelight in Melbourne.
In addition to live Christmas songs on stage, there will be plenty of market and food stalls inside Queen Elizabeth Park, with festive items and tasty hot food to get your hands on. The Coolangatta Christmas Markets will be available late in the afternoon before the carolling begins at 5.30pm.
This year, Coolangatta Christmas Carols 2019 is going plastic-free, offering four onsite refill stations for attendees bringing their own water bottles. As with each year, Coolangatta Christmas Carols is free to attend, so there’s no excuse to miss it on Sunday, December 15!
